Oxygen Supplementation-A key to Vibrant Health  Michelle Schoffro Cook, DNM, DAC, CNC,CITP

Oxygen is vital to the healthy functioning of our body. It fuels all of its systems, fires its chemical reactions, and eliminates wastes and toxins. Cellfood® enhances the critical bioavailability of oxygen to the body through its unique ability to 'dissociate' water molecules within the body, resulting in the release of abundant nascent oxygen, and hydrogen, directly to the cells.

5. Electrolytes

Electrolytes support the healthy electrical integrity of the body's natural colloidal systems, including the blood itself. They impart a negative charge to the red blood cells, separating them to restore their maximum functioning.

Calcium: Builds and maintains bones and teeth; helps blood to clot; aids vitality and endurance; regulates heart rhythm. Without sufficient calcium, nerves cannot send messages and therefore cause tension. Calcium also maintains the delicate acid-alkaline body balanced (ph).

Chromium: is a trace mineral that may help stabilize blood sugar. Chromium enables the body to burn sugar, providing energy while preventing damage to blood vessels and organs.

Cobalt: Stimulant to production of read blood cells; component of vitamin B12; necessary for normal graowht and appetite.

Copper: Necessary for absorption and utilization of iron; formation of red blood cells and connective tissue.

Fluorine: An element that helps protect teeth from decay.

Hydrogen: Plays a vital role in the electron transport chain. It builds cells, and if left unmodulated, makes them hard and brittle. These effects are balanced by the action of oxygen. Hydrogen is needed by the body to build and repair immune system, the body's organs and the cell structure.  A lack of hydrogen can lead to dehydration resulting in brain shrinkage, face furrowing, face furrowing, drying of mucus, tendon/nerve cramping, gout, muscular rheumatism, mental confusion and inadequacy, neck stiffness, irritated skin and sore joints.

pH (stands for potential of hydrogen), we all know how important pH is for the human body. This is a measure of how acidic or alkaline a substance is.  Acids have pH values under 7, and alkalis have pH values over 7. If a substance has a pH value of 7, it is neutral-neither acidic or alkaline.

Our western diets have a tendency to make us unbalanced.

High Acidity could cause:

Cardiovascular damage, including the constriction of blood vessels and the reduction of oxygen.
Weight gain, obesity and diabetes.
Bladder and kidney conditions, including kidney stones.
Immune deficiency. Acceleration of free radical damage, possibly contributing to cancerous mutations.
Weak, brittle bones, hip fractures and bone spurs.
Joint pain, aching muscles and lactic acid buildup.
Low energy.

High Alkaline body could cause:

Skin and liver problems.
Parasites, body odor and bad breath.
Allergies (food and environmental).
Chronic infections and weak conditions.
Constipation, slow bowels.

Iodine: Necessary for proper function of thyroid gland; essential for growth, reproduction, nerve, bone formation mental health, energy and metabolism.

Iron: Required in manufacture of hemoglobin, the protein that carries oxygen thought the body. Also involved in the production of certain hormones, connective tissues, neurotransmitters, and immune system maintenance.

Magnesium: Called the anti-stress mineral. Necessary for calcium and vitamin C metabolism; essential for normal functioning of nervous and muscular system. Studies show magnesium was necessary to prevent calcium deposits, kidney stones and gallstones.

Manganese: Activates various enzymes and other miners. Related to proper utilization of vitamins B1 and E. Antioxidant involving energy production, nerve-cell metabolism, muscle contraction, and bone growth.

Molybdenum: Antioxidant; detoxifies sulfites and sulfur compounds. Associated with carbohydrate metabolism.

Oxygen: Oxygen Supplementation-A key to Vibrant Health

"As you begin to introduce more pure oxygen into your system, it's only a matter of time before your body will begin to respond with new levels of vitality, energy, endurance, and most of all wellbeing." Michelle Schoffro Cook, DNM, DAC, CNC,CITP

Oxygen is vital to the healthy functioning of our body. It fuels all of its systems, fires its chemical reactions, and eliminates wastes and toxins. Oxygen is absorbed by hemoglobin in the blood and is transferred to every cell in the body. Cellular homeostasis is dependent on adequate supply of oxygen in the blood. Life is indeed propelled by the oxygen in our blood, and a lack of oxygen results in sickness, poor vitality, poor stamina, fatigue and general weak disposition.

The greater oxygen levels in our bodies, the more resistant we become to viruses and harmful bacteria.

When scientists analyzed the oxygen content of air bubbles trapped in ice-core drillings at the Antarctica, they found that the earth's atmosphere at one time contained between 38% and 44% oxygen. Over the years, increased pollution, increased toxins, mass rain forest destruction, and the reduction in of other natural oxygen producers have decreased the level of oxygen in our present day atmosphere from above 38% to below 20%.In major cities the oxygen content of the air has measured as low as 10%. Combustion of carbon and hydrocarbon fuels decrease the oxygen content of the air. Decrease in the size of the earth's forests results in less oxygen being released back into the atmosphere. Cooking or heating food reduces the oxygen content in vegetables and fruits, and processed foods have little or no oxygen content. Eating packaged foods with preservatives, anything hydrogenated (margarine), polyunsaturated fats, white flour, processed sugars, etc. all rob the body of oxygen. Valuable oxygen is needed to process and metabolize these foods - oxygen needed for primary metabolic functions and to fight disease. Add to this smoking, drinking to excess, lack of exercise and stress and you can understand why the population is oxygen deprived.  Because our bodies are not designed for low level oxygen consumption, harmful toxins accumulate in our cells, tissues, organs, and blood streams.

Initial symptoms of oxygen deficiency may include overall weakness, fatigue, circulation problems, poor digestion, muscle aches and pains, dizziness, depression, memory loss, irrational behavior, irritability, acid stomach, and bronchial complications. When the immune system is compromised by a lack of oxygen, the body is more susceptible to opportunistic bacteria, viral, and parasitic infections and colds, as well as flu. Oxygen deprivation can also lead to life-threatening disease, such as cancer. Cancer, and most other infections or disease cannot live in an oxygen-rich environment. Dr. Otto Warburg, twice Nobel Laureate stated, "the primary cause of cancer is the replacement of normal oxygen respiration of body cells by anaerobic (i.e. oxygen deficient) cell respiration."

Diseases are anaerobic - they cannot exist in an elevated oxygen environment.

Some examples of anaerobic diseases are: Cancer, influenza, HIV, herpes, measles, the common cold, Legionnaire's Disease, E-Coli, salmonella, staphylococcus, Arthritis, emphysema, asthma, chronic bronchitis, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Epstein-Barr candida and even heart disease.

They exist and proliferate with little or no oxygen present. And most people are oxygen deficient. Significantly increase cellular oxygen levels and these anaerobic diseases cannot replicate, cannot proliferate, cannot exist. A very powerful statement but there are many doctors who now believe that a completely oxygenated body cannot harbor disease.

CELLFOOD provides nascent oxygen at the cellular level where it is needed.

Phosphorus: Needed for normal bone and tooth structure. Interrelated with action of calcium and vitamin D.

Potassium: Necessary for normal muscle tone, nerves, heart action and enzyme reaction. Potassium and sodium aid the cells in elimination of wastes. Potassium attracts the nourishment that the cells need from the blood stream.

Selenium: May help prevent some forms of cancer and heart disease. Helps boost immune system.

Sodium: Helps to balance the acid-base relationship in the body. It is needed to keep calcium in solution.

Sulfur: Is a blood conditioner and cleanser. It aids the liver in absorbing the other minerals. Referred to as the beauty mineral, it is know to make the difference between stringy or shimmering hair,  brittle or beautiful nails, and coupled with vitamins A and D, play a major part in skin texture integrity.

Zinc: Is a trace mineral found in such small amounts in our bodies, it has been called a micronutrient. It is found in the thyroid gland, hair, pancreas, kidney, pituitary glands, blood and in the element in male hormone production. Zinc is a constituent of insulin, which is necessary for the utilization of sugar. It also assists food absorption through the intestinal wall. Zinc is essential for the synthesis of protein and many enzymes.

Alanine:  Is a nonessential amino acid used by the body to build proteins. Alanine is present in prostate fluid, and it may play a role in supporting prostate health

Arginine: Increases sperm content in the male.

Aspartic Acid: Is a naturally occurring nonessential amino acid, common form L(+)-aspartic acid. It is used as a dietary supplement, detergent, fungicide, germicide synthetic sweetener base. Combines with other amino acids to form compounds that absorb and remove toxins from the bloodstream.

Cystine and Methionine: Natural chelating agents for heavy metals. They aid in producing beautiful skin. Methionine can be substituted for choline which aids in reducing liver fat (lipotropic agent) and protects the kidneys. It also builds new body tissue. A deficiency of methionine may lead to fatty degeneration and cirrhosis if the liver.

Glutamic Acid: May serve as a brain stimulant. It provides Y-Butyric Amino Acid (transmits nerve impulses to the brain).

Glycine: Serves as a stimulant to the brain. It also aids in the healing of the swollen and infected prostate.

Histidine:  Nonessential amino acid. Is found abundantly in hemoglobin; has been used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, allergic diseases, ulcers & anemia. A deficiency can cause poor hearing.

Isoleucine: Needed in hemoglobin formation.

Lysine: Builds new body tissue and also such vital substances as antibodies, hormones, enzymes and body cells. Deficiency may cause nausea, dizziness and anemia.

Phenylalanine: It cannot be metabolized if a person is deficient in Vitamin C. It is a stimulant which sends impulses to the brain, acts as an antidepressant and can raise blood pressure.

Proline: Is a non-essential amino acid which can be formed from the amino acids, glutamate, ornithine, & arginine, or obtained from protein foods such as meat, cottage cheese, & wheat germ. It is found in high concentrations in collagen & is particularly important for musculoskeletal health. Collagen is comprised of almost one third proline residues. About half of your body's total proline is contained in collagen which is the main supportive protein of your skin, tendons, bones, cartilage & connective tissue.

Vitamin C deficiency will cause proline to be lost in the urine because of collagen breakdown. This is an early sign & precursor of degenerative disease.

Serine: A silk protein, and is a nonessential amino acid and can be synthesized in the body from glycine.Serine is required for the metabolism of fat, tissue growth and the immune system as it assists in the production of immunoglobulins and antibodies. Some derivatives (e.g. ethanolamine) are also important components of the phospholipids found in biological membranes. It is a constituent of brain proteins and nerve coverings and is also important in the formation of cell membranes, involved in the metabolism of purines and pyrimidines, and muscle synthesis

Threonine: Is another alcohol-containing amino acid that can not be produced by metabolism and must be taken in the diet. This amino acid plays an important role along with glycine and serine in porphyrin metabolism. Threonine is incorporated into proteins and enzymes at a molar rate of 6 percent compared to the other amino acids.

Tyrosine: Acts in regulation of emotional behavior. Important in eventual synthesis of thyroxine thus aiding in prevention of hypothyroidism.

Tryptophan: Provides niacin which prevents pellagra and mental deficiency. It regulates sleep. It is useful as a relaxant as well. May also help alcoholics stay dry by relieving some of the symptoms of alcohol related body chemistry disorders.

Valine: Deficiency results in negative hydrogen balance in the body.

Four important functions of lipotropies (methionine--choline--inositol--betaine)
1. They increase production of lecithin by the liver. This helps to keep cholesterol more soluble, thereby lessening cholesterol deposits in blood vessels and also lessoning the chances of gallstone formation. (Gallstones usually have a large percentage of cholesterol deposits).
2. They prevent accumulation of fats in the liver. Fatty liver is probably the main reason for sluggish liver function. Methionine seems to act as a catalyst for choline and inositol, speeding up their function.
3. They detoxify the liver. Methionine and choline detoxify amines which are by-products of protein metabolism. This is especially important for persons on high protein diet.
4. They increase resistance to disease. Lipotropics help to increase resistance to disease by bolstering the thymus gland in carrying out its anti-disease function in three ways. A) By stimulating the production of antibodies. B) By stimulating growth and action of phagocytes, which surround and gobble up invading viruses and microbes. C) By recognizing and destroying foreign and abnormal tissue.
